I am a qualified counsellor with thirteen years experience. I hold a counselling qualification and an honours psychology degree. I have a broad experience of problems from bereavement to relationship difficulties and have dealt with many other issues. I currently work in the field of learning disability and I have thirteen years experience working in a psychiatric setting. I also have counselled in general therapy for several years.
I work with a integrative approach and have studied: Person Centred, Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Life Skills, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and existentialist approaches to counselling.
I am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists www.iacp.ie and I am a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland www.psihq.ie , The British Psychological Society www.bps.org.uk and Open University Psychological Society www.oups.org.uk
I work in a sensitive, honest and open way with people from all walks of life. I usually work one to one and sessions and held on a weekly basis. Therapy can last from one to two sessions to more prolonged periods to time; depending on the needs of the client. I work within the code of ethics of the organisations of which I am a member.
I place a great deal of importance on the relationship that develops between the client and the counsellor and I aspire to provide an honest, flexible and enriching counselling service
